The Peace Sheep visiting Werum

The Lüneburg Peace Sheep is currently making a stop at Werum. The artistically designed mosaic sheep is traveling through companies in Lüneburg, serving as a visible symbol of peace, respect, and social cohesion.
The Peace Sheep originated from the Lüneburg peace festival “80 Years of Peace.” One of the festival’s special symbols was the “Peace Herd” – blue sheep representing peace, community, and togetherness. Many of these sheep were later donated to daycare centers and elementary schools to help carry the message of peace forward.
One of these sheep was transformed into a unique work of art together with artist Swantje Crone and children from Lüneburg, using numerous mosaic elements. The different animals that can be discovered on the sheep symbolically represent diversity and different perspectives. Since 8 May, this special Peace Sheep has been on a journey.
As it travels symbolically from company to company, it makes the idea of community and solidarity visible throughout the city.
We are delighted to be part of this initiative and to welcome the Peace Sheep to Werum.
Our thanks go to Hansestadt Lüneburg, Sparkasse Lüneburg, Manzke Friedensstiftung, and Lüneburg Marketing GmbH for making this special initiative possible.
