Lifetime achievement award for company directors

Dr Hans Windauer and Hartmut Krome (f.l.t.r.)

The foundation of Werum was laid at the end of the 1960s by software pioneer Wulf Werum. When he died long before his time in 1982, Hartmut Krome and Dr Hans Windauer founded Werum Datenverarbeitungssysteme GmbH together with the then employees. In the years until 2013, they succeeded in developing the company to evolve into the internationally operating company Werum Software & Systems AG with 500 employees.

For this outstanding merit, Hartmut Krome and Dr Hans Windauer were honored with a special award for their lifetime achievement by Lueneburg's business development council at their 2017 gala night on 10 November in the presence of 300 guests from politics, economy and public administration. With their strategy of sustainable business development based on continuous, organic growth and establishing cooperative relationships with customers they turned Werum into one of the leading medium-sized software companies and one of the region's most attractive employers, who also shows social commitment and promotes the interest of students and teenagers in scientific/technological topics.

Hartmut Krome and Dr Hans Windauer also set the course for Werum's successful future advancement after their time as executive board. In 2013, they split Werum into two separate companies in order to offer the business units, which by that time had rather different focuses, the best possible development opportunities.

Werum Software & Systems AG implements IT solutions that are tailored to their customers' needs in the business lines of Geodata Management, IT Solutions for Tests and Individual Customer Solutions. As an independent company, it continues to pursue the successful and sustainable corporate philosophy.
