Lueneburg, Germany / Toulouse, France, October 5, 2009 -
On October 1st, German software provider Werum Software & Systems AG officially opened its
new subsidiary Werum Software & Systems SAS in France. The new office is located in Toulouse,
from where Werum France will focus mainly on software projects for the pharmaceutical and biotech
industries. Werum is the internationally leading provider of production management systems for the
manufacture of medical drugs. Its MES product PAS-X, which is successfully running in more than 450
projects, is installed at 16 of the world's 30 leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
"Our goal in setting up a subsidiary in France is to open up one of the biggest pharmaceutical markets in
Europe," Werum Executive Board Member Hans-Peter Subel says. "Through Werum France, we hope to expand our
local presence and get closer to the market and the customer. We will use Toulouse as our base for promoting
our software on the French market, for managing and implementing software projects and for providing
product-related services to French clients," Subel continues.
At the beginning of this year, Werum founded two other new subsidiaries, one in Japan and one in Singapore.
There are now nine Werum locations worldwide employing a total of 360 people.
