Summary
In Melsungen (Germany) B. Braun built the most modern production site for infusion solutions in Europe, which officially began operations in April 2005. This manufacturing plant is called LIFE - Leading Infusion Factory Europe - and has been the enterprise's largest investment ever.

The CHEManager articles give a description of the new plant and its internal production workflows. In one of the interviews, B. Braun Project Manager Dr. Frank Hähner explains the special challenges faced in this project. Mr. Ulf Kempin, the Project Manager of Werum in charge of installing and starting up the MES at the new pharmaceutical factory, in a second interview reports on the tasks and functions the Manufacturing Execution System PAS-X handles for B. Braun LIFE.
